Connor and Kelly's story began upon first meeting in September 2019, when they were 17 years old. God had a playful sense of timing, for as their senior year unfolded, they found themselves navigating the peculiar landscape of virtual classrooms brought on by COVID.

While finishing out high school from home, living only 10 minutes apart, the two quickly reconnected. Connor invited Kelly on what she did not know would be their first date, a moment that would later hold more meaning than she could have imagined. From that day on, their friendship deepened, quickly becoming a constant in each other's lives. That summer, they were inseparable—going on hikes and picnics, playing sports, and spending time with their closest friends before college would take everyone in different directions. It wasn’t long before Kelly realized that the day in March was indeed intended to be a first date, and that her bond with Connor was something truly special.

With college looming on the horizon, Connor took a leap of faith and asked Kelly to be his girlfriend, beginning a journey marked by distance, but bound by love. While walking through Auburn’s campus on their way to dinner, Kelly turned a corner and saw a picnic set out with a sign asking her to marry him. Without a second thought, she said yes!
